The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology invites applications for nine-month tenure-track faculty position in Construction Engineering and Management. An earned doctorate in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and/or Management or related field is required. Preference will be given to candidates with construction industry and distance education delivery method experience. The position will be filled at the Assistant Professor level, although candidates with exceptional academic and industry credentials may be considered at a higher level. The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology was recently named first in the country in the 2015 ranking of the “50 Best Online Master’s in Engineering Programs” for its MS in Construction Engineering and Management, Engineering Management, and Mining Engineering and Management degree programs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for management, delivery and development of the program. Duties will include growing enrollment, advising students, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses related to Construction Engineering and Management and developing an externally funded research program.
Preference will be given to candidates who have bachelor’s degrees from ABET accredited engineering programs or equivalent and those who have obtained or will obtain professional licensure in a reasonable period of time. The CEE Department has a BS degree in Civil Engineering, minors in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Engineering, MS degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering (CENE) and Construction Engineering and Management and a PhD in CENE, and participates in two other interdisciplinary PhD programs.
