Towson University invites applications for two tenure-track appointments in the Department of Biological Sciences starting Fall 2011, pending approval of funding. Successful applicants are expected to possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, to establish a productive research/scholarly program involving undergraduate and graduate students, and to actively pursue extramural funding for that research. Scholarly programs should complement existing research in the department. Preference will be given to applicants using cellular and molecular tools in model eukaryotic systems. Ph.D. is required, postdoctoral experience preferred.
Position 1: Teaching responsibilities will include upper level Cell Biology, an upper-level elective, and a graduate course in the candidate's area of specialization.
Position 2: Teaching responsibilities will include either Introductory Biology for majors or Genetics, an upper-level elective, and a graduate course in the candidate's area of specialization.
