The Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking highly qualified applicants for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level.

The department is dedicated to developing clinically translatable solutions for human health by training the next generation of biomedical engineers, cultivating leaders, and nurturing the integration of engineering, science, and medicine in a discovery-centered environment. The BME Department at UT Austin has strong clinical partnerships with a number of medical institutions, including The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and The University of Texas Health Science Centers at Houston and San Antonio as well as the newly launched UT Austin Dell Medical School.

Candidates are sought in the broad area of Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering. Preference will be given to applications that provide clear connections with existing research strengths of the department, such as stem cell engineering, biomaterials, cellular mechanics, molecular engineering, or imaging. Candidates are expected to have an outstanding record of research accomplishments along with significant postdoctoral experience at the time of application. They are also expected to have a strong record of peer-reviewed publications.

Required qualifications include a doctorate degree in engineering or a closely related field. Applicants must have an outstanding record of research accomplishments, a strong interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching in biomedical engineering and a commitment to professional service. The successful candidate will be expected to teach biomedical engineering undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a sponsored research program, supervise graduate students, collaborate with other faculty in and outside the department, and be involved in service to the university and the profession.

The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering invites applications and nominations for the Carl R. and Mary T. Ice Industrial Engineering Professorship.  The successful candidate will be a nationally prominent scholar who will lead funded research endeavors that complement or extend the current strengths of the department, with preference given to the areas of applied operations research and logistics.  

Candidates for the position must have an earned doctorate in industrial engineering, operations research, or a closely related field.  The successful candidate will have an excellent record in scholarship and external funding, demonstrated commitment to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and credentials to support appointment at the rank of Full Professor.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, with additional benefits derived from the professorship endowment.

The Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology (MMET) department in RIT’s College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) is currently seeking applications from exceptional candidates for two full-time, tenure-track positions to support the Mechanical, Manufacturing and Electrical/Mechanical ET Programs. These positions are at the Assistant Professor level and will commence in August 2014 for the fall semester. A Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or an earned doctorate in a closely related field is required by the expected date of hire.

Candidates for this position will be expected to teach courses via traditional classroom and distance learning formats in areas such as manufacturing processes, mechanics, dynamics, computer aided design and engineering (CAD/CAE), machine design, failure mechanics, materials including ceramics and composites, manufacturing automation, instrumentation, controls and electronics packaging. Responsibilities will include course and laboratory development and delivery; scholarship/research in a well-defined area of focus that is in line with the department’s research agenda, including securing external funding; service to the department, college and university; and maintaining a clear professional development agenda to support the department’s growth.

The MMET department has 17 full-time faculty, 2 Lecturers and more than 25 adjunct faculty.  With almost 700 students the department continues to grow, with its entering class size doubling over the past five years.
