RIT is seeking candidates for a tenure track position in Chemical Engineering with an appointment at the assistant professor level. RIT has a strong commitment to engineering education and offers a variety of graduate degrees. The department has a five-year BS degree program that includes 48 weeks of cooperative education, and will prepare students for both industrial careers and graduate-level education.

The Chemical engineering program at RIT affords a forward looking view of chemical engineering that will teach engineering principles and underlying science associated with traditional chemical engineering applications, as well as the means to apply this knowledge to modern processes exploiting phenomena on the nano-scale. Our faculty members have an extraordinary opportunity to influence the relatively new undergraduate program and an emerging graduate program. Thus, the successful candidate must be able to teach core undergraduate courses and develop electives in accordance with their area of expertise, and must be capable of teaching graduate level courses that will be necessary as the program matures. The candidate will also be expected to develop externally funded research, participate in PhD programs and advise students, be committed to engaging undergraduate students in research, and perform other professional duties to enhance external reputation.

The Kate Gleason College of Engineering at RIT has established its reputation as preeminent in career-oriented engineering education and applied research. REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Ph.D. in chemical engineering or related field. Applicants with a terminal degree in a related field must have at least one degree in chemical engineering. Priority will be given to candidates with post-doctoral experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong publication record of scholarly work in peer reviewed journals. Priority will be given to candidates that show evidence of recent and high impact publications.
  • Possess an ability to establish and maintain a research program related to chemical engineering. Priority will be given to candidates who have the ability to articulate and document a well-designed strategy for the development of an externally funded research program.
  • Ability to deliver core and novel elective courses in chemical engineering
  • Commitment to student-centeredness—Candidate must support the importance of students as the primary constituency of the university and to contribute directly to student success.
  • Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of South Florida is seeking an outstanding scholar with credentials commensurate with appointment to full professor to chair the Department. The candidate is expected to provide a vision and to work with the faculty to lead the Department to international prominence. The Chair reports to the Dean of the College of Engineering and will lead efforts to achieve the strategic goals of the Department as well as the College. These goals include increasing the number of PhD graduates, and developing cross-disciplinary, multi-institution, and industry relationships for large team research efforts. The ideal candidate has an outstanding record of both scientific accomplishments and administrative leadership, ability to recruit, mentor and retain diverse first-rate faculty, and ability to maintain a collegial and ethical environment.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (http://www.usf.edu/engineering/cse) at USF is on an upward path in increasing faculty and instructional staff, student enrollment and external research funding. It currently has 24 research-focused tenure-track faculty and seven full-time instructors. Among the faculty are Distinguished University Professors, ACM, IEEE, and IAPR fellows, and nine NSF CAREER awardees. Research strengths cross areas including computer vision, cybersecurity, distributed systems, VLSI Design and CAD. The Department offers three BS and MS degrees (in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Information Technology) and a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering.

The total enrollment is approximately 650 undergraduate students, 120 MS students, and 77 PhD students. Enrollment is growing in all programs at this time.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering starting Fall 2016. An earned doctoral degree in civil engineering or closely related field is required. The successful applicant will have either
demonstrated, or show a clear potential for, creative and independent research that would lead to strong extramurally-funded research and national / international recognition. The department is interested in strengthening existing programs in bridge engineering and / or sustainability. Within these areas, expertise in concrete materials and / or experimental work are favorable characteristics. However, the promise of the candidate’s research is of higher priority than the specific area of research. Evidence of the ability to develop outstanding teaching programs is also required.

The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (www.ce.udel.edu) has 27 faculty members, 500 undergraduate students, and 100 graduate students. The department has active research programs in structural, geotechnical, environmental, coastal, infrastructure systems, and transportation engineering.
