POSITION: Assistant or Associate Professor (Tenure-track) in Renewable and Advanced Energy

The Ohio State University College of Engineering seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in advanced energy. Candidates are sought at the assistant or associate professor level. Qualified applicants will have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and research in the one or more areas of renewable energy and advanced energy systems, with a clear potential for multidisciplinary research. Research expertise areas of interest include: smart grid systems, photovoltaics, wind energy, and energy storage. The candidate will be appointed in a College of Engineering department that best aligns with his or her research and teaching interests; a joint appointment in two or more departments is also possible.
The candidate is expected collaborate with the College's Center for Energy, Sustainability, and Environment (CESE). CESE is a College Center engaged in research and educational outreach in clean energy and energy sustainability. The faculty and research associated with the Center provides a strong foundation for interdisciplinary research to systematically address the challenges of energy and its impact on sustainability and the environment.
The College of Engineering comprises more than 260 faculty members, offers 15 graduate degree programs in engineering and architecture, and is home to a number of federally-supported research centers, state-supported research and commercialization centers of excellence and industrial consortia. The College’s annual research expenditures were $128M in 2009, and comprise a key component to the University’s position as 7th among public universities nationally in research expenditures and 2nd nationally in industrial research expenditures. The College continues to aggressively support multi-department, interdisciplinary initiatives in energy-related research and energy remains the top research and strategic hiring priority in the College.
