The Department of Biomedical Engineering in Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and
Technology at Saint Louis University seeks dynamic, collegial, collaborative, and creative individuals for a tenure-track position in our department starting in the Spring of 2016. We seek faculty members who strive to integrate scholarship with teaching of both undergraduate and graduate students in a team-oriented, student-focused environment. The growing Biomedical Engineering department consists of eight full-time faculty members who offer both undergraduate and graduate degree programs to approximately 200 undergraduate students and 20 graduate students. Appointments are targeted for the assistant professor level.

Responsibilities:

  • Make balanced contributions in teaching, research, and service
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate students
  • Collaborate with existing faculty and local industry
  • Develop sustainable funded research programs
Minimum Qualifications:
  • An earned doctorate in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in research and education
Preferred Qualification:
  • Expertise in an area closely related to our strengths of biomechanics, biomaterials, tissue engineering, image-guided therapy, biomedical instrumentation, and neural engineering

Exceptional candidates with other areas of expertise are encouraged to apply, including those with interests in the application of technology to healthcare. Opportunities for collaboration exist with other research programs in engineering, science, SLU Health Sciences Center (medicine, nursing, and allied health), and the Center for Emerging Technologies.
