The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME) at the School of Engineering and Computer Science is seeking candidates for the leadership of its MME Department. Seeking a dynamic and visionary leader with demonstrated experience in departmental and academic administration. The school is entering a five-year period of rapid growth and expansion. Our department offers degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Materials Science, and Nanoscale Science and Engineering.

Responsibilities include:

-Mentoring and development of MME faculty
-Leading the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the MME department
-Supporting and increasing sponsored research activity
-Increasing undergraduate and graduate enrollment in the department
-Improving the ranking of the department
-Establishing active relationships with industry partners
-Supporting a creative collegial and productive environment for faculty, staff, and students

Qualifications:

-The successful candidate must possess an earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field, as well as earned national recognition by a distinguished record of accomplishments in mechanical and/or materials engineering education and research.
-Qualify for the rank of Professor in MME.
-A record of excellence in teaching and scholarly publications in archival literature.
-Funded research.
-Demonstrated experience in departmental and academic administration (preferred)
