Wichita
State University’s College of Engineering invites applications for the Director
of Engineering Technology. This is an open-rank faculty position at Associate
or full Professor level, starting Fall 2013. Candidates with experience
in Engineering Technology programs, teaching courses, and advising and
recruiting students are encouraged to apply. The Director of the
Engineering Technology Program will be responsible for all activities related
to the administration and coordination of the program including admitting and
advising students, staffing the program, chairing the curriculum committee,
preparing program accreditation, and acting as liaison to program constituents.
This is a newly created program with tracks in four areas including
mechatronics, renewable energy, and technology management. The director will
report to the chair of the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Department.
Applicants
for this position must have a doctoral degree in engineering technology or any
engineering discipline, three years experience in an engineering technology
program, and five years of teaching experience. Preferred qualifications
include demonstrated ability in developing curriculum and in implementing an
academic program, demonstrated ability to recruit and coordinate multiple
instructors, experience in advising, marketing and recruiting students,
relevant industry experience, and research/scholarly activity. Applicants
must provide evidence of their eligibility for employment in the U.S.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience.
