The Pennsylvania State University, Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure-track lecturer
position in the area of structural
engineering, effective Fall, 2013. The successful candidate must have an
earned Ph.D. in civil engineering and will be expected to teach undergraduate
courses in structural engineering that may include structural analysis, design
of concrete structures (ACI 318), design of steel structures (AISC LRFD) and
other courses as needed. Preference will be given to candidates who have a
demonstrated and successful teaching record in undergraduate structural
engineering courses and are a registered professional engineer with applicable professional
experience. The candidate will also be expected to participate in undergraduate
advising and undergraduate student activities. The Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering consists of 32 full-time faculty, and offers programs
leading to the BS, MS, M.Eng, and Ph.D. degree.
