Marion University invites applications for a tenure track Industrial
Engineering faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level
(rank will depend on qualifications and experience). The successful
applicant will play a major role in implementing the program, attaining ABET
accreditation, and working with local businesses and industries on internships
and senior design opportunities.
We particularly seek individuals with expertise in the areas of production/manufacturing, operations research (modeling), quality control, industrial statistics, logistics, or supply chain, but the candidate must be able to teach a broad array of undergraduate industrial engineering courses. Prior teaching experience in an ABET-accredited industrial engineering program is highly desirable. The successful candidate will join a community of scholars who are committed to excellence in undergraduate education and will have the exciting opportunity to help shape the new program. The Industrial Engineering major is housed in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, which also oversees programs in physics, pre-engineering and engineering technology. Francis Marion University is one hour from Myrtle Beach and is in the heart of the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. There are extensive opportunities to collaborate with local companies representing manufacturing, health care, and tourism. The successful applicant will be expected to provide innovative, high-quality teaching, engage in collaborative efforts with local industries, and contribute to the goals and missions of the department, college, and university

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, teaching experience in an engineering program, administrative ability, and ABET experience.
Start Date: August 2014
Responsibilities: The successful applicant will teach 9-12 hours of lectures and labs, and will assist in the implementation of the Industrial Engineering major.
Professional Development: Francis Marion provides generous support for conference travel when presenting. Research stipends are available on a competitive basis.
