George and Elizabeth Pickett Professorship in Industrial, Manufacturing & Systems Engineering and Tenure Track Faculty Positions

The Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, & Systems Engineering (IMSE) invites applications for open rank faculty positions. An earned doctorate degree in industrial engineering, engineering management or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates with strong research emphasis and experience in energy, health care, environmental, and security are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates are expected to establish a vigorous externally funded research program, to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and to perform university service. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Senior Faculty candidates will be considered for receiving the George and Elizabeth Pickett Professorship in Industrial, Manufacturing & Systems Engineering.
The IMSE Department (uta.edu/ie) has a collegial faculty of 14 members with expertise in manufacturing, logistics, operations research, engineering statistics, systems engineering, engineering management, and human factors. It currently has an enrollment of about 550 students and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering, as well as M.S. degrees in Engineering Management, Logistics, and Systems Engineering. The Department houses the Center on Stochastic Modeling, Optimization, & Statistics (http://www.uta.edu/cosmos/), the Systems Engineering Research Center (http://www.uta.edu/engineering/serc/) and RFID and Auto Identification Lab (http://www.uta.edu/rfid/). The Department has ongoing projects with local industry, inter-disciplinary collaborations with faculty across campus, and ties with UT Arlington’s Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (http://www.tmac.org/), and research institute UTARI (http://www.uta.edu/utari).
UT Arlington is a doctoral, research-extensive university with a current enrollment of nearly 35,000 students and is part of the University of Texas System. The University is located in Arlington, Texas, centered in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, the fourth largest urban area in the nation. With more than 6,000 students, the College of Engineering (uta.edu/engineering) is the fourth largest in Texas. The College offers nine baccalaureate, 14 masters, and nine doctoral degree programs. It has ties to numerous high technology companies in North Texas.
