The College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the Center for Imaging Research (CIR) at the Medical College of Wisconsin are seeking an exceptional faculty candidate with expertise in biomedical image reconstruction to expand our research portfolio and curricular offerings. The successful candidate will bring a strong independent research program as a foundation for developing an interactive and collaborative environment of basic and clinical investigation.
This unique position will allow the successful candidate to have access to research facilities both within CEAS and CIR. Teaching assignments are expected to be within CEAS. Candidates working in MRI pulse design and imaging reconstruction at all levels will be considered. Candidates in other areas (e.g., CT) must be at the senior level.
UWM is a doctoral/research extensive university and Wisconsin’s premier public urban institution. CEAS consists of five departments--Civil Engineering and Mechanics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Materials, and Mechanical Engineering, with ABET accredited programs. The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is a private, freestanding medical school dedicated to leadership and excellence in advancing the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease and injury. Information about MCW can be found at http://www.mcw.edu/ The Center for Imaging Research has state-of-the-art imaging facilities including two research-dedicated GE 3T whole body scanners, a Bruker 9.4 T/30cm MRI scanner, a MEG scanner and a micro SPECT/CT. A whole body GE 7T human MRI scanner will be delivered early next year.
Applicants with well established research programs are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must have an M.D. or a doctoral degree in an appropriate field of engineering, physics, computer science, or a related science field. Candidates must demonstrate a strong track record of scientific publication and extramural funding.
