ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION IN MATHEMATICS
The Department of Mathematics at Simon Fraser University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level starting September 1, 2016. We are looking for a researcher working on mathematical aspects of data science with a focus on applications to fields such as epidemiology, public health or genomics. The successful candidate will join an active research group in Operations Research currently housed at the SFU Surrey Campus,a vibrant community hub located in the heart of one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities. The Vancouver area is well known for its breathtaking scenery, high quality of life and world-class amenities.
We seek applicants with an outstanding, independent research program and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. The successful candidate will contribute to an active, innovative department with strong research groups and a thoughtful teaching environment. Exceptional candidates may be encouraged to apply for a Tier II Canada Research Chair.
