Faculty Position in Industrial Engineering
The School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) at Hofstra University invites applications for an anticipated tenure-track opening at the assistant/associate professor level in industrial engineering. The start date for this position is September 1, 2016.
Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related area. It is preferable that the applicant has interests and experience in engineering education, as one of the expectations of the position will be teaching first-year engineering students. Additionally, expertise in healthcare systems or supply-chain management will be viewed favorably.
The engineering programs at Hofstra are experiencing rapid growth, and the successful applicant will contribute to the further development of a top tier undergraduate educational enterprise. Hence, candidates must be effective communicators with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, be able to initiate sustained research, especially of a type that can involve advanced undergraduates, and show initiative in seeking external funding for research.
