Michigan Technological University, Department of Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics “ME-EM” invites applications for a lecturer position. Applications in all fields of mechanical engineering will be considered but the Department is particularly interested in background and experience in design, finite element analysis and solid mechanics. Project management experience is desirable. The expected start date is August 2012.

Basic functions and responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate mechanical engineering courses, advising senior design project groups, department service, and assisting with department assessment.

Required qualifications are a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or closely related field or experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired, demonstrated excellent teaching ability, and demonstrated organizational skills.
