in Puerto Rico, part of the Ana G. Mendez University System, is looking for a full time professor in the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin August 2013.

Job Description: The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop proposals and perform externally funded research, demonstrate and maintain a high quality publication record, collaborate in the development of the Master programs in Engineering Management and Logistics Engineering Management, and mentor students in industrial and management engineering.

Requirements:
PhD in Industrial Engineering or closely related discipline. Strong background in supply chain management or logistics engineering. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and actively participate in the program assessment and continuous improvement to maintain the ABET accreditation. Successful applicant will teach graduate and undergraduate courses (particularly: Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Facilities Planning, Simulation, Work Measurement, among others) in the Industrial and Management Engineering Department, participate in research projects, and provide service to the university. Minimum two years of teaching experience. Experience teaching online courses is highly desirable. Industry experience or professional certifications are a plus. Excellent communication skills; knowledge of Spanish is desirable.

Salary: $65,400 per year for the Assistant Professor position. The university offers a competitive fringe benefits package.

The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) at the Atlanta, GA campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology is seeking nominations and applications from qualified individuals for the Coca-Cola Chair of Material Handling and Distribution. The Coca-Cola Chair of Material Handling and Distribution will be held by an outstanding scholar whose leadership in research, education, and service bring prestige to the Stewart School and the Coca-Cola Company, and benefit the wider community through advances in the understanding and practice of material handling and distribution systems, broadly-defined.

Candidates for this position must have an earned doctorate in a field relevant to material handling and distribution, and national and international recognition in their specific discipline based on a proven record of excellence in academic and professional scholarly achievements, leadership and management skills, and experience working on industrial problems.

Successful candidates should have the strategic skills and vision to lead the Stewart School toward higher levels of excellence and be able to establish successful working relationships with academic and research colleagues. Successful candidates will be expected to lead teams of researchers at the cutting edge of their fields, facilitate corporate relationships and attract external funding, build and lead a strong research program, successfully mentor graduate students, and develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

The appointment will be at the Professor level. The position is not limited to US citizens.

The Stewart School presently has a student body consisting of almost 1400 undergraduates and approximately 460 graduate students, with 150-160 pursuing Ph.D. degrees. Currently, there are approximately 50 full-time academic faculty members. The primary disciplinary strengths represented by the School’s faculty are: modern industrial engineering, operations research, and statistics. Major methodological research concentrations include mathematical optimization, stochastic processes, and engineering statistics with prominent application domains arising in supply chain logistics, health, manufacturing, system informatics, finance, energy, natural systems, and others. The Stewart School has a long legacy of leadership in material handling, distribution, and supply chain engineering.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Virginia invites applications to fill a new tenure-track position in the broad area of sustainable infrastructure systems, starting in the summer of 2013. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing efforts in our department to provide fundamental understanding of sustainable solutions to meet infrastructure challenges in one or more of the following areas:
· Transportation planning
· Public transportation
· Air or water impacts of transportation systems
· Complex infrastructure modeling
· Advanced information technology applications in civil engineering

Applicants working in other areas of transportation or infrastructure engineering will also be considered. The department has a well-established transportation research group and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Virginia Center for Transportation Innovation and Research (VCTIR).

The University of Virginia's Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering seeks a computer systems administrator for a Senior Information Technology Specialist position. The principal objective of this position is to direct the department's IT needs, to lead and administer the Computer System and Network of the department's computing facilities and to teach a computer and network introduction course. 

Requirements: Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Physical Sciences. Incumbent must have at least one year experience in directing and supporting the computing needs in an academic environment, including integrated circuit CAD software administration and security, maintenance, and disaster recovery. In addition, one year fulltime experience in computer and network administration including UNIX/Linux and Windows servers, desktops/laptops, mobile devices, network routers, Ethernet switches, modems and firewalls is required. 

Required Knowledge/Skills Abilities: Knowledge and in-depth understanding of the University and Departmental system policies and operating procedures. Manage UNIX/Linux systems; Manage Windows XP/Vista/7 systems; Troubleshoot TCP/IP; Write Perl; Administer mail server. Management or supervisory experience. Analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software. Must be able to work with a diverse group of people.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills Abilities: Familiarity with CAD software used in engineering classes and research (such as Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Synopsys, and Matlab, etc). UNIX shell scripting skills (Born, csh, ksh, bash), perl and C language. Familiarity with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) web server platform and html web authoring tools.
