Faculty Position - Biomechanics
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, invites applications for a tenure-eligible faculty position at the professor level starting as early as spring 2013. The department has experienced rapid growth in recent years and has 17 full-time faculty members, primarily in the areas of biomaterials, biomedical imaging, bio-optical sensing, and cardiovascular mechanics and mechanobiology. The department enjoys close collaborations with the Texas A&M Colleges of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine as well as the new Texas A&M Institute of Preclinical Sciences (a full large animal Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and incubator facility), and moved into the new $104 million Emerging Technologies Building in 2011.
Exceptional senior candidates with a Ph.D. in engineering, or equivalent field, are sought, with particular interest and scholarly accomplishments in the area of biomechanics. Successful candidates will be expected to lead an active research program, contribute to graduate and undergraduate teaching, and provide internal and external professional service.
