Wichita State University’s College of Engineering invites
applications for the H. Russell Bomhoff Professorship in Engineering.
This is an open-rank faculty position at Assistant, Associate or full
Professor level, starting Fall 2013. Applicants for Associate or full
Professor may be considered for tenured appointments. Candidates with
specialization in biomedical devices, biosensors, or microfluidics may be
preferred and will be expected to integrate clinical research with respect to
design and manufacturability of biomedical and biosensor devices. They
include but are not limited to wearable or wireless biomedical sensors and
devices or sensors for medical and clinical diagnostics. The selected
candidate will beexpected to teach a variety of courses, establish an
interdisciplinary research program, advise undergraduate and graduate students
(including doctoral students), secure and conduct externally funded research,
and publish and disseminate scholarly works. S/he will be a leader of a
multidisciplinary research and education program within the College of Engineering
and will integrate bioengineering-related activitiesacross Colleges at Wichita
State University.
Applicants for this position must have a doctoral degree in
bioengineering/biomedical engineering or a related discipline, possess a record
of scholarly work, have effective oral and written communication skills,
possess the potential to secure external funding, and have a commitment to
diversity. Preferred qualifications include experience in
university-level teaching, biomedical devices or healthcare industry,
laboratory research, external funding, and scholarly activity, appropriate for
the rank applying for. Applicants must provide evidence of their
eligibility for employment in the U.S. Salary and rank will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
