This is a revised advertisement to satisfy the new requirements set out by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) on June 20, 2014.

The Department of Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a full-time, professorial appointment in Operations Research at any level to start in 2015. Based on qualifications and rank hired at, salary range of $100,000 to $150,000 will be considered. Exceptionally qualified candidates, negotiation beyond the salary range noted will be taken into account. Applicants should hold a PhD, or be near completion of their doctorate, and have a strong technical background in Operations Research/Management Sciences, Industrial/Systems Engineering, or related fields. We are particularly seeking individuals who have demonstrated research ability and have interests and/or experience in the theory and applications of Operations Research methods to problems in industrial and service organizations.  Examples of relevant research and application areas include simulation, optimization, stochastic models, and classical methods of Industrial Engineering such as quality and reliability.

Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in Engineering and must commit to apply to become a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, Canada within two years of appointment.

Management Sciences is a dynamic and growing interdisciplinary department in the Faculty of Engineering that has active research and teaching activities in Operations Research, Information Systems and Management of Technology.   The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Management Engineering, as well as Master’s and PhD programs in Management Sciences. 

Applicants should submit a cover letter along with curriculum vitae detailing educational background, research and work experience, teaching evaluations if available, and up to four selected publications.  Three reference names and their emails should be submitted with the application for it to be considered complete.
