The Department of Civil Engineering at Boise State University is seeking candidates in the areas of geoenvironmental/geotechnical engineering or transportation engineering at the Associate or Full Professor level based upon qualification of the applicant. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in Civil Engineering such as Soil Mechanics, Foundations, Groundwater, Transportation Planning or Infrastructure. Research areas of interest to the department include fate and transport of subsurface contaminants, seismic analysis and sustainable infrastructure. Successful candidates will be expected to make a balanced contribution in teaching, research and departmental service. Collaboration with faculty, especially across disciplines is highly encouraged. Candidates with a proven track record of interdisciplinary research are highly desired. Faculty members work with federal, state and local agencies and industry to develop and sustain funded research programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
* PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
* Ability to obtain a professional engineering license in the State of Idaho within three years
* 3-5 yrs teaching experience at the college/university level
Preferred Qualifications:
* BS in Civil Engineering
* Interest in departmental and research leadership
* 5+ yrs teaching experience at the college/university level
