ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN NUCLEAR ENGINEERING
The Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. in nuclear engineering or a closely related field, and should have demonstrated scholarly research experience and teaching interests in any of the areas of nuclear engineering. The Department offers separate B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degree programs in both nuclear engineering and mechanical engineering, as well as a concurrent B.S. degree program in mechanical engineering and nuclear engineering. Penn State’s Nuclear Engineering Program is nationally ranked at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with rising enrollments and strong ties to national laboratories and the nuclear industry. Faculty members maintain strong externally funded research programs with many opportunities for collaboration. The University has excellent computing and experimental facilities, including the 1 MW Breazeale Nuclear Reactor at the Radiation Science and Engineering Center and the Institute for CyberScience.
