Job Description:
The University of Texas at Austin Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in structural engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a sponsored research program, supervise graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and the profession. The department seeks a person with expertise related to fracture mechanics, fatigue, and damage modeling of materials in structures. Areas of particular interest include infrastructure monitoring, rehabilitation technologies, and nondestructive evaluation aimed at service life extension. The successful candidate will have access to experimental facilities for full-scale testing of structural systems and high-performance computing facilities.
