The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has an immediate need to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning January 1, 2011. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a closely related field by the appointment date. Candidates must show exceptional promise in both research and teaching. Desired areas of interest include information assurance and security, server technology and enterprise computing, and, parallel and multicore programming. Only applicants whose research and teaching interests fall under these or very closely related areas will be considered.

Applications should be submitted by November 15, 2010 as we plan to begin interviews by late-November. Applicants should send a letter of intent, a statement of research and teaching interests, resume, and the names of three references to: Search Committee, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Oakland University, Rochester, MI 48309-4478. The teaching statement should include a list of undergraduate and graduate courses that the applicant will be willing to teach as well as outlines of two courses that the applicant would like to introduce.
