Cornell University's School of Operations Research and Information Engineering (ORIE) seeks to fill one or more positions in Financial Engineering (FE). Applications may be at any rank.
Requisite is a strong interest in the broad mission of the School, an ability and willingness to teach at all levels of the FE program, strong potential for leadership in research and education, and a PhD in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field by the start of the appointment. Salary will be appropriate to qualifications and engineering school norms.
Cornell ORIE is a diverse group of high-quality researchers and educators interested in probability, optimization, statistics, simulation, manufacturing systems and a wide array of applications such as supply chains, scheduling, transportation systems, health care, service systems and network science, in addition to financial engineering. We value mathematical and technical depth and innovation, experience with applications and practice, and an interest in the relationship of finance and risk to other Operations Research core subjects. Our PhD program is among the best. ORIE also runs the Cornell Financial Engineering Manhattan teaching space. Ideal candidates will have correspondingly broad training and interests.
