The Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in all areas of Computer Engineering.
The Erik Jonsson School is home to Departments of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Bioengineering, and Material Science & Engineering and has interdisciplinary programs in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering, Arts and Technology, and Systems Engineering & Management. A $100 million State-of-the are building for interdisciplinary research in engineering and science was inaugurated in 2007.
Computer Engineering in the Erik Jonsson School is an interdisciplinary program between the departments of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Since its inception, the CE program has been growing very rapidly and attracting an increasing number of students. It is in a unique position to continue its growth due to technological trends and market demand in emerging areas such as medical and bioengineering applications, ubiquitous networking, mechatronics and energy. The UTD-CE program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET and offers bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in CE.
The University of Texas at Dallas is situated in Richardson, with several hundred high-tech companies within a few miles of the campus, including Texas Instruments, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, RIM, Rockwell-Collins, Ericsson, Hewlett-Packard, Samsung, Fujitsu, Cisco, Zyvex, and Intervoice. Qualified applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, and the potential to develop an externally funded research program. Candidates at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level must have a strong record of scholarly and professional achievements.
