Milwaukee School of Engineering invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for Fall 2014 teaching in the Industrial Engineering program within the Mechanical Engineering Department.   

This full-time faculty position requires teaching primarily in the areas of applied statistics, quality, Six Sigma, and reliability.  As a teaching-oriented university, candidates with greater breadth are desired, so secondary areas of interest are operations research, data mining, and lean manufacturing.

This position requires an earned doctorate in Industrial Engineering (or a related field), relevant industrial experience, and a strong interest in effective undergraduate teaching, integrating theory, applications and laboratory practice.  In addition to teaching duties, the successful candidate will be expected to become involved with academic advising, course/curriculum development, supervision of student projects, and continued professional growth through a combination of consulting, scholarship, and research.  Excellent communication skills are required.  The review of applications will begin as they are received and continue until the position is filled.
