The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) department at Kettering University invites
applications for a tenure track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, with an
anticipated start date of July 1, 2014. An earned doctorate in Industrial Engineering or a closely
related technical field is required, as is expertise in one or more of the areas of Production,
Scheduling, and Logistics. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and be eligible to work in the United States. Preference will be given to applicants with the ability to develop and teach courses in Statistics, Quality, and Supply Chain. The applicant is expected to collaborate with other faculty members in the department who have expertise in Engineering Economy, Engineering Materials, Ergonomics, Human Factors, Manufacturing, PLC-Based Controls, Project Management, Reliability & Maintainability, Simulation, Statistics, Stochastic Modeling, System Design & Analysis, and Quality. All Kettering University undergraduate students participate in an excellent co-op program; thus, applicants with industrial experience or close ties with industry are preferred.

The Kettering University IME Department has once again been ranked No. 1 in the country by
U.S. News and World Report in the publication's annual 'Best Colleges' editions. Kettering
University is predominantly an undergraduate institution and strives for excellence in teaching.
However, in addition to teaching, the successful candidate is expected to conduct and publish
scholarly and applied research, as well as participate in university and professional development
activities including curriculum development, assessment, and improvement.
