Faculty Position in Construction Engineering Management – The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK), invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in the area of Construction Engineering and Management.  A broad range of construction engineering and management backgrounds of relevance to CEE will be considered. These include (but are not limited to) resilient infrastructure construction and maintenance, instrumentation and monitoring, building information models, data intensive and high fidelity complex systems modeling and automation, financial/economic decision making for construction projects, rehabilitation of critical infrastructure, safety, energy efficient buildings, sustainable built environment, and lifecycle assessment..  Salary is nationally competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.  Review of applications will begin on Dec. 1, 2013, and will continue until the position is filled.  Candidates must hold an earned doctoral degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or closely related field at the time the position is filled.  Candidates must have research and teaching interest in construction engineering and management.  Strong communication skills, an ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment, and eligibility to work in the United States at the time the position is filled are also requirements of the position.  The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is now located in a new $25-million teaching and research facility.  The Department is entering a significant new era and is expected to play an important role in the College of Engineering's vision to become a leading research institution and to take advantage of unique opportunities for multidisciplinary research programs with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and other campus partners including the Center for Transportation Research, Southeast Transportation Center on Safety (STC), Joint Institute for Advanced Materials, Institute of a Secure and Sustainable Environment (ISSE), and Construction Industry Research and Policy Center.  Additional information can be found at www.engr.utk.edu/civil/ .
