The Physics Department at the University of Dayton invites applications to fill a new tenure track position at the assistant professor rank starting August 16, 2014. 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics and must be a theorist or computer modeler with demonstrated potential for establishing a research program in the environmental, atmospheric or climate change fields. Applicants must be able to articulate how undergraduate students could be engaged in their research program. The new faculty member must be committed to quality teaching to science and non-science students in a liberal arts environment. Application deadline is
January 17, 2014. 

This position will support the mission of the Physics Department by teaching courses for majors and non-majors at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum, as well as engaging undergraduate students in research. The new faculty member will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in other departments at the university engaged in a variety of environmentally-related fields. 

Candidates with interest in teaching students from diverse backgrounds and those with an appreciation of Catholic and Marianist values are preferred.
