They take advantage of special academic opportunities like combined degrees, foreign language study groups and an unparalleled international education program.

Job Description:
As part of the strategic plan for expanding biomedical research in emerging fields, the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Watson School, State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton invites applications for a tenured position at the level of Associate Professor with an expected start date September 1, 2016. The Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Watson School are dedicated to the goal of building a diverse and inclusive teaching, research, and working environment. Potential applicants who share this goal, especially underrepresented minorities, women and persons with disabilities, are strongly encouraged to apply.
We are particularly interested in hiring a senior and mid-career biomedical engineer who has demonstrated exceptional potential in scholarship, the ability to attract extramural research funding, and the capability to teach both undergraduate and graduate level of biomedical engineering courses. In addition, the candidate should be a visionary leader who will leverage the University's investment in biomedical and health science and develop a plan that synergizes our strategic partnership with the new School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and plays a leading role as an affiliated member of the university's TAE in Health Science. More information on the university's five TAEs is available at http://www.binghamton.edu/academics/provost/tae2013.html.
We seek applications from candidates in all areas of biomedical engineering. Specific areas of interest include computational biology, system biology, bioinformatics, computational neuroscience, neuroprosthetics, post genome informatics, bio-printing, biomaterials, bio-manufacturing, nanomanufacturing, biomedical devices, stem cell engineering and other emerging areas. The candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses in biomedical engineering. Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness are preferred.
The Department is particularly strong in advanced bio-manufacturing, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, nanomedicine, cardiovascular engineering, biomaterials, biomechanics, and organ-on-a-chip. A new research suite for advanced bio-manufacturing will open in January 2016. For more information, please visit our website at https://www.binghamton.edu/biomedical-engineering/.
