Job Description:
As part of our continuing growth, the Department of Computer Science in the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University (The State University of New York at Binghamton) invites applications for four tenure-track positions as follows beginning in Fall 2016:
One Assistant Professor position in the healthcare informatics/healthcare systems area.
Three other positions, two at the Assistant professor level and one at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. For these positions, we are especially interested in candidates in the following areas: (a) Data Analytics, (b) Operating Systems or Embedded Systems, (c) Machine Learning.
The position in the healthcare area encompasses information systems technologies and extends from the software design for portable health monitoring devices, monitoring and diagnostic systems to data analytics and algorithms associated with drug discovery and drug repositioning to analytics and systems for healthcare management and delivery. This one position is affiliated with the University's Health Sciences Transdisciplinary Areas of Excellence (TAE). The successful candidate(s) will contribute to the development of this TAE as an area of research and teaching. The search committee will include members of the Health Sciences steering committee as well as from the Computer Science Department. Requirements:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline by the appointment date. Strong evidence of research capabilities and commitment to teaching are essential. Junior tenure track faculty members have a significantly reduced teaching load for at least the first three years.
