The Operations Research Program and Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at North Carolina State University are seeking applications for a tenured track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, in Operations Research, starting in the 2011-2012 academic year. The minimum educational requirement is a PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or a related field. The Operations Research Program is a joint program sponsored by the College of Engineering, and College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Operations Research faculty reside in a range of departments including Industrial & System Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, and many others. The program offers three advanced degrees - the Master of Operations Research (MOR) Degree , the Master of Science (MSc) Degree and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree. The candidate appointed to the position will have an academic appointment in Industrial and Systems Engineering. The appointed will be expected to do innovative research in the Operations Research field, to participate in the Ph.D. program, and to teach both required and elective courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in Industrial and Systems Engineering as well as graduate courses in the Operations Research Program.
