The Physics Department at the University of Dayton is seeking applications for a tenure track faculty position at the assistant professor level to begin in August of 2011. A Ph.D. in physics or optical sciences with a physics emphasis is required. Applicants must be experimentalists in the area of electro-optics, committed to quality teaching in a liberal arts environment, and capable of establishing their own research program. Duties include teaching all levels of undergraduate physics, teaching graduate electro-optics courses, and contributing to department electro-optics research activities. The successful applicant should have demonstrated experience, or interest, in teaching students from different racial, ethnic, gender, and class backgrounds and should appreciate Catholic Marianist values.
