Qualifications: Earned Doctorate in Aviation, Engineering, Business, Education, or a related discipline is required; an Engineering degree at any level is very desirable. Expertise in any of the following is desirable: aviation flight operations, aircraft structures, aerodynamics, or propulsion and engine systems, aircraft or turbine engine design and engineering, air traffic management, or wind tunnels. Work in an aviation-related industry and/or Airframe and Powerplant license, FAA Commercial or ATP pilot certificate are very desirable; ability to connect effectively to the aviation industry is essential. The successful candidate for Assistant Professor must demonstrate potential for teaching and scholarly excellence. Candidates applying for the position at the Associate Professor level must be able to demonstrate a strong record of academic excellence, broad teaching experience in the aviation field, and scholarly achievement. Applicants should have awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate for this position is expected to teach undergraduate and, potentially, graduate courses in Aviation operations, flight, and airline/corporate management, and also maintain a program of scholarly activity. Depending on appointment level the candidate may be expected to assume a leadership role in curriculum and program management. Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation – through course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Starting Date: August 20, 2012
