The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position with an anticipated start date of August 2012. Individuals whose research and graduate teaching interests align with the department's emphasis in quantitative modeling and analysis applied to the areas of healthcare systems, quality and reliability engineering, and transportation and logistics are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a closely related field and be prepared to contribute to the department's broad, yet personalized, undergraduate program.

The department's sixteen faculty have received significant research and teaching awards and hold key leadership positions at the University of Arkansas and in professional societies. The faculty execute a research agenda that is supported in large part by the National Science Foundation Center for Excellence in Logistics and Distribution (http://celdi.ineg.uark.edu), the Center for Innovation in Healthcare Logistics (http://cihl.uark.edu), and the Mack-Blackwell Rural Transportation Center (http://mackblackwell.org). Furthermore, the department is ranked among the best graduate programs in industrial/manufacturing engineering by U.S. News and World Report.
