Position in Industrial Engineering at Quinnipiac University
The Department of Engineering
at Quinnipiac University School of Business and Engineering invites
applications for a Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor
tenure-track faculty position in Industrial Engineering starting in August
2014. Faculty are expected to excel at teaching, research, and service to
students and the university community. Relevant industry experience is
beneficial.
The
Department of Engineering is in the second year at Quinnipiac University with
the goal of becoming ABET accredited upon graduation of the first class in
2016. The Department of Engineering is a foundational step in a path that
anticipates becoming the School of Engineering in the near future. We are
building a unique learning environment that balances theoretical and applied
learning, supporting a variety of learning styles. In that setting, we also
foster continuous professional growth of our faculty and staff appropriate to

Specific job requirements will
include developing and teaching courses supporting the department and
university mission as well as guiding, advising, and mentoring students.
Tenure track faculty will maintain an active professional scholarship agenda
that lead to externally refereed contributions. Service to the University
community is required. Teaching courses in our emphasis areas of
manufacturing, healthcare systems, and supply chain management is expected. The
candidate should be able to contribute to the curriculum by developing new
emphasis areas, including, but not limited to, data analytics and financial
engineering.
Minimum qualifications for
candidates include: a PhD in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field;
evidence of teaching effectiveness; evidence of the ability to accomplish
research in areas related to the department’s mission. ABDs may be considered.
