The Mechanical Engineering and the Electrical and Computer
Engineering Departments at Seattle University invite applications for a
tenure-track Associate Professor and Director of Systems Engineering beginning
September 2014.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest
in establishing and administering the Master of Engineering in Systems
Engineering program, teaching and mentoring graduate students, and fostering
closer ties with local industry. The ideal applicant will have a deep
understanding of the systems engineering discipline, industry experience, and
significant academic experience: teaching systems engineering at the graduate
level, developing new curricula, and offering courses with on-line
components. Responsibilities will include oversight of a new professional
master’s program, teaching, scholarly work and service.
Requirements: Ph.D. in systems engineering or a
closely related discipline.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical
Engineering Departments are housed within the College of Science and
Engineering. Both undergraduate programs are ABET accredited and support
the university’s mission of educating the whole person, professional formation,
and empowering leaders for a just and humane world. The Master of Engineering
in Systems Engineering is being jointly developed by these two
