Rochester Institute of
Technology’s Department of Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental
Management and Safety is currently seeking applications from exceptional
candidates for a full-time tenure-track faculty position to launch a new Master
of Science Construction Management program. The successful candidate will have
the unique and exciting responsibility of working with the department chair and
faculty to initiate an on-line Master’s degree program in construction
management at RIT. Responsibilities include program oversight and growth,
course development and delivery, academic advising for graduate students,
scholarship/research in a well-defined area of focus that is in line with the
department’s research agenda (including securing external funding), service to
the department/college/university, and maintaining a clear professional
development agenda to support the department’s growth.
Required Qualifications
Assistant Professor Required
Qualifications:
·
Ph.D. in construction management or a related
field or ABD with completion date prior to August 13, 2014.
·
Three years relevant industrial experience in construction,
construction operations, or construction management.
·
Demonstrated potential for research and
scholarship activities (including refereed publications) in alignment with the
CETEMS department’s scholarship foci.
·
Demonstrated potential for high quality
teaching.
·
Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the
college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and
individual differences.
Associate Professor: Required
Qualifications:
·
Ph.D. in construction management or a related
field.
·
Five years relevant industrial experience in
construction, construction operations, or construction management.
·
Ability to fully develop and teach graduate and
undergraduate courses in three of the following areas:
o Construction
leadership
o Construction
operations and productivity
o Construction
cost analysis and management
o Sustainable
design and construction
o Construction
delivery methods including Integrated Project Delivery/Lean.
o Construction
customer development and retention
·
Demonstrated record of research and scholarship
activities (including refereed publications) in alignment with the CETEMS
department’s scholarship foci.
·
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the
higher education level in the construction management discipline.
·
Demonstrated record of high quality teaching.
