Tenure Track Faculty Position
Assistant Professor of
Physics
University of Dayton
The Physics Department at the
University of Dayton is seeking applications for a tenure track position at the
assistant professor rank to begin August 16, 2015.
A Ph.D. in physics or optical sciences is
required. Applicants must be
experimentalists in the area of electro-optics with a physics emphasis, and
must be able to establish an independent research program. Applicants must be able to teach all levels
of undergraduate physics courses, able to teach graduate electro-optics
courses, and must be committed to quality teaching of graduate electro-optics
students and undergraduates in a liberal arts environment.
Demonstrated successful experience teaching
students from diverse backgrounds, and an appreciation for the UD mission to
educate the whole person are preferred. Duties include teaching all levels of
undergraduate physics courses, teaching graduate electro-optics courses, and
contributing to electro-optics research activities in the physics
department.
