Multicultural Post-Doctoral Fellow, Computer Science & Statistics
The Department of Computer Science and Statistics is searching for a full time post-doctoral
position (limited to 06-30-2016) for one year with the possibility to transition into a tenure-track
position, contingent upon favorable reviews of productivity in research and potential for teaching
during the period of the fellowship.

This position is intended to increase the diversity of the faculty in the Computer Science and Statistics department and advance issues of diversity in research and teaching within academic programs at the University of Rhode Island. Candidates interested in pursuing a career of teaching, research and outreach including collaborative, interdisciplinary research with others within and outside the department are invited to apply to this position. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in computing and/or statistics related to computational and data-enabled science, biostatistics, Bayesian hierarchical models, STEM education, big data, high performance computing or human-computer interfaces and who have potential to collaborate with others in the department and across campus.

Candidates who can collaborate with and enhance already existing areas of excellence and
interest at URI such as, and not limited to, cybersecurity, digital forensics, algorithms, graphics,
interactive computing, human computer interfaces, high performance computing, sensor
networks, machine learning, data mining, bioinformatics, computational science, computing
education, neuroscience, computational science, computational social science, and computational
humanities, for example, will be given the most serious consideration. Conduct research, seek
external research funding, and participate in interdisciplinary research across colleges and
disciplines; contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses (reduced load);
