Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Statistics
The Department of Computer Science and Statistics is searching for a full time, tenure trackAssistant Professor position to begin academic year 2015-2016. Candidates interested in
pursuing a computer science career of teaching, research and outreach including collaborative
research with others within and outside the department are invited to apply electronically to this
position. Candidates who can collaborate with and enhance already existing areas of excellence
and interest at URI such as, but not limited to, informatics, big data, cybersecurity, digital
forensics, algorithms, graphics, interactive computing, human computer interfaces, high
performance computing, sensor networks, machine learning, data mining, bioinformatics,
computing education, STEM education, neuroscience, computational science, computational
social science, and computational humanities will be given the most serious consideration. It is
expected that candidates will also be committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate
teaching, and to supervising and mentoring students. Conduct research, obtain external research
funding, and participate in interdisciplinary research; teach undergraduate and graduate courses;
advise graduate students.
