The Department of Systems and Engineering Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology (http://www.afit.edu/en/env/index.cfm) invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track faculty position (rank depending on qualifications) in the Systems Engineering program with a start date of 1 Oct 2012 or earlier. Applicants for the position must have a Ph.D. in systems engineering, industrial engineering, or a closely related discipline. Applicants should have a distinguished record in research and teaching, should have demonstrated an exceptional potential to conduct world-class research, and should have the background, commitment and desire to conduct research and teach graduate classes in systems engineering topics. This position includes a leadership role in the Systems Engineering Research and Analysis Group which includes pursuing and liaising with potential funding agencies to develop new research opportunities for the Systems Engineering program.
AFIT’s Systems Engineering Program is an ABET-accredited graduate program with an emphasis on research. Students are typically DoD officers who attend AFIT with full fellowships. Research is funded from both DoD and non-DoD agencies. AFIT is a member of the NSF ADVANCE LEADER Consortium (www.wright.edu/leader/), and candidates are expected to share AFIT’s commitment to this and other campus diversity initiatives.
