The School of Engineering invites applications from distinguished scholars and teachers for one position at either the Assistant (tenure-track) or Associate/Full (tenured) level in Bioengineering. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing faculty in Bioengineering at a new University of California campus, and to contribute to long-term program building. Bioengineering will be housed within a new engineering building and faculty members enjoy a highly collaborative research environment. Research focus is in the area of Recombinant Biosensors.  However, excellent applicants in other research areas as genetic engineering, protein engineering, or biosensor nanotechnology will also be considered.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Bioengineering, Biophysics, Chemistry, Cell/Molecular Biology or a closely related discipline and a record of teaching, research, and service appropriate to rank.  Candidates for tenured level must have a distinguished record of achievement as evidenced by leadership in their field of expertise, publications, professional recognition and extramural funding.  The candidate is expected to establish a successful and independent program of high quality research. Competitive candidates must also have the ability to teach bioengineering courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
