The Department of Industrial Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville is searching for a full time, tenure track Assistant Professor in Manufacturing Technology Management to start August 22, 2012.

Qualifications: M.S. in Industrial Technology Management or closely related field with specialization in industrial controls, flexible manufacturing systems, electronics, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plus two years of teaching and/or industrial experience required. Experience with data acquisition software [LabView], and interfacing computer/PLC controls with industrial equipment and robotic systems. Ability to prepare grants, conduct research, and seek external funding. Prefer doctorate in Industrial Technology Management or closely related field with additional years of teaching or industrial experience.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in oral and written communications. In addition, he or she must provide a separate statement describing a history of working with or demonstrated commitment to addressing issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and/or other issues of historic marginalization. Applicant must also have observable dedication to undergraduate education; enthusiasm for professional engagement with students in and out of the classroom; and ability to work in teams in a collegial environment. The applicant may be required to teach courses through alternative delivery methods.
