We seek a computer science faculty member to join our dynamic Mathematics and Computer Science department at the Assistant Professor rank. Landmark is seeking approval of a new A.S. program in Computer Science-Gaming, and it is expected that the new faculty member will help to nurture and shape this important new program.
The new CS faculty member will deliver courses in computer science and related areas based on experience and interest, e.g. mathematics. The primary teaching responsibilities include teaching developmental and degree-level computer science courses, game programming with an emphasis on game design, and data structures. Evidence of scholarship in the field, particularly in terms of research programs that can involve undergraduate students, is highly desirable. Other desirable characteristics include familiarity with principles of universal design for instruction and learning, working as part of a team, and grant proposal development. The anticipated start date for the position is fall 2012.
QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree in computer science or a related field is preferred. Candidates in all areas of computer science will be considered; gaming and interactive computing technologies expertise is preferred. A working understanding of the nature of specific learning disabilities in a classroom setting is desirable, and teaching experience at the college level is highly desirable.
