The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University (OSU) seeks nominations and applications for the position of Professor and Head of the School of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM). Candidates will also be considered for the Donald and Cathey Humphreys Endowed Chair of Industrial Engineering and Management. Candidates are sought who have: an earned doctorate and national reputation in industrial engineering, or a closely related field; a distinguished record of research, teaching, and leadership in an appropriate area of industrial engineering; a strong record of externally funded research; an interest in advancing educational programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; a record of leadership in professional societies and interaction with industry; administrative and financial management abilities; demonstrated academic leadership abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must qualify for appointment as a tenured Professor of Industrial Engineering and Management at OSU.

The School of IEM has 12 tenure or tenure-track faculty members, with 124 B.S., 81 M.S. and 27 PhD students. Programs include both on-campus and distance components. Active research programs are conducted in healthcare/biomedical informatics, predictive and descriptive analytics, decision support systems, energy management, lean manufacturing, materials management, operations research, production planning, productivity improvement, quality engineering, reliability and life testing, supply chain management, and logistics and systems simulation and optimization.

Nationally funded centers located in IE&M include the U. S. Department of Energy Industrial Assessment Center and the NSF Center for Excellence in Logistics and Distribution (CELDi) site.
Screening of applications will begin February 1, 2013, and continue until the position is filled. Target starting date is August 1, 2013.
