The University of
Akron invites applications for two talented and dynamic tenure-track Assistant
Professors who can establish and execute a vibrant agenda for strategic
research and education in the Department of Biomedical Engineering beginning
Fall 2013. Candidates should have earned a doctoral degree in Biomedical
Engineering, or a closely related discipline with biomedical engineering
emphasis; post-doctoral training is preferred. Successful candidates are
expected to advance priority research areas identified below. The
priority areas in the department for these two positions are biomechanics and
biomedical sensors/ bioinstrumentation. The first position is for an Assistant
Professor who can advance research areas including (but not limited to) orthopedic
biomechanics, rehabilitation engineering, and cardiovascular mechanics. The
second position is for an Assistant Professor who can advance research areas
including (but not limited to) medical signal and/or image processing and
biomedical instrumentation and/or devices. More information can be found
