The Wichita State University’s
College of Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track position in the
Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at the Assistant
Professor rank, starting August 2013.
Candidates are required to have
expertise in manufacturing processes, with a strong background in one or more
areas in mechanics, robotics, material science, composites, or nano-technology.
A Ph.D. in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical
engineering, or other related field is required. Candidates must have a strong
record of scholarly achievement, familiarity with writing proposals for competitive
funding, effective oral and written communication skills, and the background to
teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in manufacturing processes,
micro/nano-manufacturing, and/or composites. The successful candidate
will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, secure and
conduct externally funded research, publish scholarly work, advice
undergraduate and graduate (including Ph.D. level) students, and collaborate
with researchers in local industries.
A commitment to diversity and the
ability to work with a diverse population are required. Preference will
be given to candidates with experience in teaching, writing competitive
research proposals and strong scholarly activity and experience in
manufacturing industry.
