The University of Southern Mississippi invites applicants
for a full-time position as director, School of Construction, in the Dean's
Office of the College of Science and Technology.

The director is the executive officer of the school and
reports to and advises the dean of the College of Science and Technology
regarding the school.
Duties and Responsibilities: Provides leadership and
direction in shared governance in areas of goal-setting and assessment; faculty
recruitment, hiring, mentoring and tenure/promotion evaluation; provides
leadership and guidance to advance the research capabilities and scholarly
activities of the school; ensures that academic programs in the school maintain
high standards; directs the administration of the school; serves on the College
Executive Committee and the College Curriculum Committee and on other
university or college committees when appropriate; oversees custody and
authorized use of university property charged to the school and the assignment
of space and facilities to authorized activities in accordance with University
policy and regulations; performs other duties as requested by the dean and/or
upper administration.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in construction
engineering technology, construction management, construction science, civil
engineering, architecture or a closely related discipline; a professional
record commensurate with appointment as full professor
Preferred Qualifications: Prior administrative
experience, leadership skills, ability to organize multidisciplinary projects
Experience with graduate and undergraduate programs and with ABET and ACCE
accreditation
