The
Wichita State University’s College of Engineering invites applications for a
tenure-track position in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing
Engineering at the Assistant Professor rank, starting August 2013.
Candidates
are required to have a background in systems engineering, a BS in Industrial,
Production, or Systems Engineering, and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering or
other related fields. Candidates must have a strong record of scholarly
achievement, familiarity with writing proposals for competitive funding,
effective oral and written communication skills, and the background to teach
undergraduate and graduate level courses in and establish a research focus in production
systems, service systems, healthcare systems, or energy systems.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate
courses, secure and conduct externally funded research, publish scholarly work,
advice undergraduate and graduate (including Ph.D. level) students, and develop
industry-based research.
A
commitment to diversity and the ability to work with a diverse population are
required. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching and
industry experience and strong scholarly activity.
